Call for Papers Shahrzaad
Collected papers on stories and storytelling
Shahrzaad (Šahrzād) stands out as the symbol of storytelling in Iranian culture. She is also known as Scheherazade, Shahrazad, shahrezad, chehrazaad, shirazad… in the other eastern cultures.
Shahrzaad as a literary non-periodic publication is dedicating its first issue to the subject of storytelling, story research and fables.
Shahrzaad is supported by scholars from around the world. It accepts articles in Persian, English and German.Researchers, writers, translators, academic instructors, storytellers and literary critics are invited to submit their works for review and inclusion in this volume till July 1, 2020.
Works can be presented in various written forms such as articles, research articles, review articles, essays, notes, memoirs, historical studies, monographs, critiques, presentation of documents and works of reference, etc., some areas are as follows:
- Indigenous storytelling in different regions of the world,
- Educational, training and therapeutic uses of storytelling,
- Storytelling in ancient and historical sources,
- Digital, modern and postmodern storytelling,
- Storytelling and the other arts.
Contributors need to have a short summary and the biography of the author.
Contributors will allow Shahrzaad to translate the whole or part of the work into other languages.
Proceeds from the sale of Shahrzaad will be used to equip libraries and promote storytelling research in Iran and Afghanistan.
